Visit of Robert Huber at the IMP


Today we felt honored and pleased to meet with Robert Huber, who came as a University SAB member to Vienna. During this trip, Robert stayed Friday afternoon with us, to have a look at the new IMP building and to learn about our projects.

Aside getting first-hand input into construction principles of molecular machines, it was particularly exciting to talk with Robert about the future of protein crystallography, in these shaking times of the cryoEM revolution. The brief summary: Stay calm and continue work on challenging crystal structures. Ultimately, it is the sample that matters, i.e. the decade of Protein Biochemistry shall be ahead …
